Carver 4-County Museum, Inc., is sponsoring a benefit concert featuring the renown Virginia State University (VSU) Concert Choir, under the direction of Dr. Craig Robertson. There will also be an exhibit showing the George Washington Carver Regional High School teachers who graduated from VSU. In the school's 20-year history, there were 37 VSU-educated Carver teachers, 25 percent of the school's teachers. Carver also boasts many alumni who continued their education at VSU - as early as when it was called Virginia State College for Negroes. The closing song of the event will be the VSU Alma Mater with Carver-VSU alumni singing along.
This is the first event sponsored by the Carver 4-County Museum since its new status as an independent 501(c)3 corporation registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
