About Us
Girls on the Run Piedmont is a local nonprofit organization serving girls in 3rd–8th grade across seven counties in the Piedmont region. Through evidence-based, after-school programs that integrate physical activity with social-emotional learning, Girls on the Run helps girls build confidence, emotional resilience, and healthy habits that last a lifetime.
Our programs are delivered in partnership with schools and community sites and are led by trained volunteer coaches who mentor girls in areas such as goal-setting, emotional regulation, healthy relationships, and positive decision-making. Each season culminates in a celebratory, noncompetitive 5K event that reinforces perseverance, teamwork, and achievement.
Girls on the Run Piedmont is committed to access and inclusion. A generous financial aid model ensures that no girl is turned away due to her family’s ability to pay.
We value strong partnerships with local businesses and community organizations and welcome opportunities to collaborate through sponsorships, volunteer engagement, and community initiatives that support youth well-being and leadership development.
