Culpeper Downtown to Host Fourth Annual Wizard Weekend Celebration

For the fourth year in a row, Culpeper Downtown is hosting a magical weekend celebration. This 
year, the festivities extend from Friday, July 25th to Sunday, July 27th. The entire downtown will be 
offering Costume Contests, Food and Drinks Specials, Parody Plays, Crafted Wands, Divination Tea Parties, Terrarium Workshop, Potions Class Tutorials, and more based on favorite Wizards of Pop Culture.

Over 30 businesses will be participating this year throughout the entire downtown footprint. 
Culpeper Renaissance, Inc, will be providing Wizard Weekend Passports to include a listing of 
participating businesses. These maps will serve as a passport that rewards participants with prizes to be collected for visiting more places throughout the weekend. Winner of the design contest, Marsha Hale’s art will be used as this year’s logo for the event and appear on the maps.

There will be even more activities and experiences to try out from a Magical Escape Room on the 
Caboose to Yoga Classes, drink Specials at Raven’s Nest or Far Gohn Brewery to Limited Edition 
Treats at Miss Minerva’s Tea Room and Scoop on Davis. Other places will have Discounts and 
Giveaways. Heather Griffin, owner of Hundred Acre Books is using the weekend to kick off a soft 
opening of her new cat cafe. She says, “I’m excited to introduce our new foster cats as a ‘Adopt-AFamiliar’ event all that weekend.”
